At Rising Palms, we support individuals with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder using evidence- based Applied Behavior Analysis strategies. OCD can show up as unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviors that feel hard to control. ABA focuses on understanding what triggers those thoughts or behaviors and what keeps them going. We observe patterns, identify what the child or adult is trying to achieve through the behavior, and teach healthier ways to get those needs met. This process allows clients to build confidence and gain real-life coping skills that can work across school, home, and community settings.
Our approach includes teaching replacement behaviors, gradually reducing anxiety around triggers, and reinforcing progress in small but meaningful steps. We work closely with individuals and families to create a plan that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. Growth happens when the person learns new skills and sees that they can handle the discomfort without relying on compulsions. Medication can be helpful for some people and definitely has a place, but it is not the only option. ABA therapy offers practical tools that empower individuals to regain control and live with greater independence and peace.
